Yep, I've decided to go with my extended family. There are going to be 8 of us for sure, 9 if Toni comes - Auntie El, Julie, Jocelyn, George, Deanne, Linda, Mom and me. We're all related, by blood or marriage and what a mixed bunch we are! I booked the tickets yesterday. We're renting an apartment that sleeps 6 people, so it is going to be really squishy. We get there first though, so we'll get the beds (the four from Winnipeg I mean).
I've been hemming and hawing about going and Sean finally convinced me to go. He is so great, I would be envious if he was going and I wasn't, never mind that he is going to have the kids all by himself for 8 days. He said my mom would like it if I went and I'll never have the opportunity to travel with her like that again. He's right, and very thoughtful. What a sweetheart he is (lucky me!). So, I'm going the week after spring break, and then Sean is off to Florida with his friends the day after I get back (and he will definitely need the break by then). Poor kids aren't going anywhere at all - I promised them a week at the lake this summer though, so they are happy about that. I hope we have a nice summer this year!
Sean's folks flew home from Florida early because his dad wasn't feeling well. They've got an appointment with the doctors next week so we will find out more then. I think he is feeling a bit better now, but we're keeping him in our prayers and hoping for the best.
Connor can't seem to shake the cold he's been fighting. It seems to be an epidemic in Winnipeg right now. Everyone you talk to is sick or has just been sick or has a child or spouse who is sick. I think we're all just sick of winter too. Sean hasn't been feeling that well in the last little while either. I've been making a lot of chicken soup but it doesn't seem to be helping that much. I don't think there is much point in going to the doctor though, it isn't that bad, it just seems to be taking forever.
Aidan and Delaney are fine. Delaney had a very successful spirit week at school last week. We managed to get the right costumes on the right days (last year I sent her in beach clothes on hat and tie day) and she had the most beautiful hat - yes, her Disney princess cone hat. She was very proud.
Daisy is entranced by the computer these days. She stares at the cursor and my typing and I can just see her wanting to grab at it. Problem is, I have trouble seeing the screen cause she plants herself right in front of it. But, she's been very friendly since we got back from Florida. It only took her a year to let us touch her!! I find that I'm getting quite attached to the cats, even Mom doesn't seem to mind them as much. Well, she's saying that but I'm not sure it's true!
