I had a meeting with the guidance counselor at the end of the day at school and Connor was feeding the hamster with his teacher when I arrived. Here's how it went:
Connor: Can we take a hamster home some weekend? Samantha is taking one home today.
Me: Sure, we can ask Madame when would be a good time. (thinking all the while that it is almost the end of June so not likely to happen)
Connor: Madame, Mom says we can take one home one weekend.
Madame: Oh, Minou could go home with you today.
Me: ***!***
So, the hamster is home. Daisy would love to play with it, and Comet was more interested in it than in escaping when we got home. I just hope that it doesn't get eaten. Or escape. If it escaped it would never be found in the boys' mess of a room!
We are happy for the weekend! Connor had a field trip to Fort Whyte this morning and we got soaked in the rain. Now the sun is shining, but can I get the kids outside? No way! It's the weekend and they are allowed to watch tv after school so that is what they are going to do. Except Aidan who is plugged into the gameboy. I shouldn't complain, he read 3 or 4 books this week!
Delaney had her meet the teacher night and was thoroughly impressed with the gym teacher in particular. She is going to love kindergarten. I lost her form, of course so now have to fill out another one. But I know I put it in a safe place...
Pizza night, I'd better go and start rolling the dough.
