Rain rain go away

It isn't even raining, it is coming down in sheets. The sky is black and I've got all the lights on in the house in the middle of the afternoon in June. I hope it is nice by Friday, we are planning on going to the Canada Day celebrations at the Forks, St. Boniface, Osborn Village and Assiniboine Park. It sounds like a lot, but they have lots on and you can ride the bus between the venues. We'll end up watching the fireworks from our lawn chairs in the par, lots of fun.

We are done with soccer and everything, and only 1 day of school left! Aidan's class went bowling this afternoon and Connor's was meant to have a beach party. I don't know if they did or not (although I suspect not!) because he's been home sick the last two days. I thin he's got a bad flu bug, he's been throwing up and is achey all over. We're keeping a close eye on him, but I hope he gets better or our Canada Day plans are off.

The soccer season ended with a bang. Connor's team beat a team that 2 of his school chums played on, so that made his day. Delaney finally caught on and was chasing the ball and kicking and was really pretty good. She was finally showing the stuff her brothers taught her.

The church picnic was on Sunday and the kids had a good time and all won prizes. It was inside because it had rained that morning so wasn't as well-attended as it could have been but the kids ran races and did a scavenger hunt and did the limbo, so they thought it was pretty great. We went and bought a basketball net with the proceeds from the garage sale, but we haven't had time to set it up yet with sick kids and all.

Happy Canada Day everybody!
